SEO: Search Engine OptimisationSEO: Search Engine Optimisation is the process of improving the volume or quality of traffic to a web site from search engines via "natural" or un-paid ("organic" or "algorithmic") search result. [wikipedia]

As an Adelaide business, we have helped both local and national businesses gain exposure with natural search results using Search Engine Optimisation.

Usually the closer to the top (higher ranked site) a site appears in the search engine results list the more visitors it will receive from that search engine. Search Engine Optimisation may target different kinds of searches including, but not limited to, image searching, local search, video searching and industry-specific vertical search engines. This provides a web site it's web presence. Couple that with the right focus, a favourable ranking can be achieved within a couple short months. Often times this will only require monthly support to maintain.

As an Internet marketing strategy, SEO considers how search engines work and what people search for. Optimising a website primarily involves editing its content and HTML and associated coding. Applying both increase its relevance to specific keywords and to remove barriers to the indexing activities of search engines.

The acronym "SEO"

SEO can refer to "search engine optimisers," a term adopted by an industry of consultants. These consultants carry out optimisation projects on behalf of clients and by employees who perform SEO services in-house. Search engine optimisers may offer Search Engine Optimisation as a stand-alone service or as a part of a broader marketing campaign. Effective SEO may require changes to the HTML source code of a site. This is why SEO tactics should be incorporated into web site development and design. The term "search engine friendly" may be used to describe web site designs, menus, content management systems, images, videos, shopping carts, and other elements that have been optimised for the purpose of search engine exposure.

Another class of techniques, known as black hat SEO or Search Engine Optimisation, use methods such as link farms, keyword stuffing and article spinning that degrade both the relevance of search results and the user-experience of search engines.

Be warned with this method, Google has made it very clear they like 'natural' order within their algorithms. With this in mind using link farms or links that will disappear soon after being indexed (especially when done in the hundreds, or thousands) will cause search engines to remove them from their indices. This may find yourself with basically no traffic!

Offsite links are one of our many strategies with SEO but we do not rely on this solely. As we DO NOT endorse the blackhat linking methods described here. If you choose to pay a company a once off fee and expect longevity, then I am afraid all you will get are blackhat methods with short term results.
